Launches video for "Divide And Conquer" The 23 year wait is over! Awakening, the brand new album from Thrash legends Sacred Reich, has dropped today on Metal Blade Records and is available from metalblade.com/sacredreich. Accompanying the release of their first new album in over 2 decades is the third video for track "Divide and Conquer"; watch here: youtu.be/u3jrZ36g4yM Awakening has already been met with unanimous praise from the media with Metal Hammer calling it "a steady campaign of mouth-watering riffs and shout-out choruses", Revolver claiming Sacred Reich "prove they're just as heavy and furious as ever" with "a gritty, sludgy take that pushes the confines of thrash itself for a highly unique and fist-pounding experience." and Kerrang! stating "while some contemporary maniacs might roll their eyes at the concept of Buddhist thrash, one listen to 'Awakening's burly, old-school sound will have them along for the ride". Speaking on the highly anticipated release of Awakening, front-man and bassist Phil Rind says: "We are so excited to share 'Awakening' with everyone! We had an incredible time making the record. It was such a fun and positive experience. We hope you can feel it when you listen to the album. To the fans who have supported Sacred Reich for all these years, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. None of this would be possible without you. We hope you enjoy the record as much as we did making it. See you out on the road! Peace and love…Sacred Reich" To celebrate the release of Awakening, Sacred Reich will be hosting an album launch party this evening at True Tattoo in Hollywood, CA, home to legendary artist Paul Stottler. Old school Sacred Reich fans will know Paul as the artist who designed the band's logo, artwork and their iconic mascot 'O.D'. He also designed the album cover for Awakening.
True Tattoo will be offering special Sacred Reich themed tattoos specially designed by Paul all day today. Prices vary starting at $20, walk-ins accepted; please contact True Tattoo for further information: truetattoohollywood.com Twenty-three years after dropping their last full-length, Sacred Reich are returning in force with the towering Awakening. The new album showcases everything a fan would expect and hope for from the Phoenix, Arizona crew, it is a timeless collection comprised of blistering thrash, crushing grooves, killer solos and socially conscious lyrics that demonstrate a true understanding of everything that matters most in the world today. The return of Dave McClain, who manned the drum throne from 1991 to 1997, and the addition of 22 year old Joey Radziwill playing guitar, alongside original members guitarist Wiley Arnett and vocalist/bassist Phil Rind are integral facets of the record. Speaking on this current line-up of Sacred Reich, Phil Rind says: "Dave is such a killer drummer and person. He works every day to become a better drummer, and I mean every day. His work ethic is inspiring. As much as he has accomplished, he is still open to what comes. Joey brings a higher level of musicianship and tightness to our band, and he brings a freshness to us. He gives us an opportunity for us to see things from a different perspective, and all of us were blown away by what he can do with a guitar and how effortlessly he does it." To track the album, the band headed into Platinum Underground in Mesa, AZ, and employed producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy) and engineer John Aquilino. The album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering, CA. Speaking on his band's long awaited new album, Rind adds: "Going into it, we had a loose idea as far as knowing that we wanted some fast, heavy songs to honor the old school fans that have supported us and gotten us to this point. We wanted everything to happen naturally. We didn't want to force anything and we are super stoked with every song. It is easily the best thing we have ever done. Regardless of what happens with the record, the experience of making it was enough to satisfy us. Obviously we hope people like it, but even if it tanked, it could not change the way we feel about it. We know what we did." Awakening track-listing 1. Awakening 2. Divide & Conquer 3. Salvation 4. Manifest Reality 5. Killing Machine 6. Death Valley 7. Revolution 8. Something to Believe "If there ever was a band that needed to return, it's them. As an album, 'Awakening' lives up to its title in every conceivable way. In both content and form. There will always darkness before the dawn, and Sacred Reich provides the soundtrack to a hopeful future." - Metal Injection "a steady campaign of mouth-watering riffs and shout-out choruses" - Metal Hammer "prove they're just as heavy and furious as ever…a gritty, sludgy take that pushes the confines of thrash itself for a highly unique and fist-pounding experience." - Revolver "while some contemporary maniacs might roll their eyes at the concept of Buddhist thrash, one listen to 'Awakening's burly, old-school sound will have them along for the ride" - Kerrang! "Sacred Reich have released one of the best albums in their career in freaking 2019" - MetalStorm.net "'Awakening' is certainly the best record that Sacred Reich have released since 'Ignorance', it is a strong, powerful album that shows us if anything that the Reich have been away far too long" - MHF Magazine "Gorgeous and groovy riffs and pouncing rhythms give you all the headbanging satisfaction you can ask for." - Metalwani.com "…the quality of the performance of all persons involved, but particularly the vocal work of Rind, showcases a band that seems to have scarcely aged a day over the past 23 years since they were in the studio." - Sonic Perspectives "Without skipping a beat, the record is filled with the tunes that are the logical next step after 1996's 'Heal'. It's a slim, no filler eight song opus that delivers the goods." - Rockandrollfables.com Sacred Reich tour dates w/ GWAR, Toxic Holocaust, Against The Grain Sept. 10 - Memphis, TN - Growler's * Sept. 12 - Norfolk, VA - The NorVa Sept. 13 - Millvale, PA - Mr Smalls Theatre Sept. 15 - Sauget, IL - Pop's Sept. 16 - Grand Rapids, MI -The Intersection Sept. 17 - Chicago, IL - Reggie's ** Sept. 18 - Detroit, MI - The Majestic Sept. 19 - Columbus, OH -Newport Music Hall Sept. 20 - Knoxville, TN - The Mill & Mine Sept. 21 - Jacksonville, NC - The Tarheel Sept. 22 - Atlanta, GA - The Masquerade Sept. 23 - Pensacola, FL - Vinyl Music Hall Sept. 24 - Tampa, FL - The Ritz Ybor Sept. 25 - Fort Lauderdale, FL - Revolution Live Sept. 26 - Jacksonville, FL - Nighthawks ** Sept. 28 - Greensboro, NC - The Cone Denim Entertainment Center Sept. 29 - Baltimore, MD - RamsHead Live!
