LORD: NEW SONG, NEW MERCH, NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY!
Australian metallers LORD have revealed the cover art and track listing of their forthcoming album “Fallen Idols” and released a video clip for the opening track “United (Welcome Back).”
Frontman, L.T. explains: "Well it's nearly that time again - after a lot of work and a busy couple of years touring and writing, we're just about ready to unleash our new album. Anyone who has followed what we've done over the years should know what to expect by now, which is 'the best damn mix-tape you'll ever hear' kind of deal. We proudly identify as a heavy metal band but as usual the album goes off on wild tangents ranging from light melodic rock to blast-beat heavy thrash."
He continues: "This time we wanted to bring home that feeling of standing in front of that beer-soaked stereo, headbanging with your friends at backyard parties. No-one cared about what genre the music was; it either didn't exist yet or it just didn't matter. Whether it was DOKKEN or SLAYER, MAIDEN, PRIEST or KREATOR, all that mattered was the feeling you had in that moment. This album is a nostalgic tip of the hat to those times where carefully formulated marketing plans meant nothing, but the music was everything."
The track listing is as follows:
United (Welcome Back)
Immortal
Fallen Idols
Wilder than the Wind
Nod to the Old School
Chaos Raining
Counting Down the Hours
In Dreams *
The Edge of the World
Kill or be Killed
Master of Darkness
Break the Ice (John Farnham cover) *
Touch the Fire (Icehouse cover) *
* Exclusive Australian release bonus tracks.
The first song, "United (Welcome Back)" has been released as a video clip, and as an exclusive digital EP that features previews and introductions of every song on the album, bundled with limited run "United" shirts. More information here: www.lord.net.au/united
"Fallen Idols" is slated for release at the end of April.
Pretty cool stuff, hey? OK, let's have a closer look at those shirts:
Along with the shirts, like the press release mentioned, we're releasing an EP that has - obviously - "United (Welcome Back)" in full, along with short previews of every song on the album, plus introductions to each song and the album in general by L.T. - 23 tracks all up, which is a lot for an EP! But rather than buying the EP alone, we're GIVING IT AWAY FREE with the shirt!
And without further ado, here's the video clip! Shot at Greenkey Studio in Sydney and all of the filming and post production by L.T. at SLS Studios, this was a lot of work but it came up great. Keep an eye out for Adrian Griffin from Sydney metallers Lo! who is sitting in on drums in this clip - he did a great job!
